I'm Iren Puj, abstract paintress, trained at the University of Timisoara in Romania, raised in an artist family in Hungary, now working from my studio near London.

Art runs in my blood. My father was a sculptor. I grew up watching him create, and painting became my language.

I work fast and intuitively. Most of my paintings happen in few hours, no plan, just composition, colour, and instinct. I'm always asking: What's missing? What balances this? I trust my gut to know when it's done.

I paint from flow, presence, and confidence. If you want bold, energetic work that comes from strength not heaviness, we'll get along just fine.

ARTIST STATEMENT:

Motherhood changed everything for me. I changed who I am and how I see the world, I notice the small things now, the fleeting moments that matter most. And if I could ask for more of anything, it would be time. 

 

Most of my paintings are completed in 3-6 hours sessions. I don't waste time overthinking or second guessing. I start with colour and composition, layer and adjust, and when it feels balanced, I stop.

 

I don't plan my work or force meaning. I paint in the moment, trusting what I see and feel right then. My formal training gave me structure. Motherhood taught me presence. My instinct thought me flow. I paint from presence, not pain. From strength, not struggle. That's the energy in every piece.
