Iren Puj is a contemporary abstract painter working from her studio near London.

 

Trained at the University of Timisoara and raised in an artist family in Hungary, her practice is grounded in both formal structure and lived experience of making.

 

Working in acrylic, oil and mixed media, she develops each piece directly on the canvas, building layered compositions through colour, texture, and balance.

 

Her work is created in focused sessions, where decisions are made in real time - adjusting, refining, and resolving the surface until the composition holds.

 

Gold leaf and metallic elements are integrated to create contrast, depth, and points of tension within the work.

 

The result is painting that carries strength, clarity, and material presence - designed to hold its own within contemporary interiors.
