As this painting developed, it reminded me of looking down at a city after dark, where thousands of lights come together to create something bigger than each individual point of light.
The contrast between the deep black background and the rich gold creates a sense of depth, while the layers of texture allow the painting to change as the light moves across its surface.
For me, City Lights captures that feeling of looking out across a city at night, full of energy, possibility, and countless stories, each one connected to another. Like all abstract art, I hope it allows each viewer to discover something personal within it.
